About Us

TechMadel empowers, connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) across Africa by providing them the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities. Through mentorship and exchange, TechMadel strengthens participants’ professional capacity, increases mutual understanding between key networks of professionals, and expands girls’ interest in STEM careers by exposing them to female role models. TechMadel is an initiative of Dr Angela Makolo, a 2013 TechWomen Emerging Leader from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Techwomen Emerging Leader Award for excellence in Technology and leadership by the Institute of International Exchange (IIE) of the United States Department of States, USA is a professional mentorship for women in Africa and the Middle East to interact with women leaders in Technology in the silicon valley, in the United States with the hope that these women leaders will be change agents in their home countries and provide mentorship to women in STEM.
